Out & About in Spring

Spring is buzzing all around and the team at NZBCT will be out and about with fun talks and a brand new Bumblebee Trail for the kids.

The Elms - Tauranga

Are you looking for a fun activity for the kids in the last week of the school holidays?

NZ Bumblebee Trust has teamed up with The Elms | Te Papa to provide a live bumblebee display box, a Bumblebee Trail, giveaways, talks and activities all associated with the humble Bumblebee.

There is so much to learn about the amazing world of bumblebees.

When: October Fri. 3rd and Sat. 4th between 11am and 3pm.

Every hour, you can hear about and see the Bumblebees through a perspex display.

Entry is FREE for the Bumblebee activities

Where: The Elms | Te Papa, 15 Mission St. Tauranga Central

Note: Back up date if wet will be Saturday11th October.

Centuria Taranaki Garden Festival

Geoff & Liz are being hosted by Bee Valley Flower Farm where they will be giving free talks and have a live bumblebee hive on display.

Saving the Sounds of Summer – Mitre 10 Garden Speaker Series

The low drone hum of bumblebees bouncing from flower to flower is one of the quintessential sounds of a New Zealand summer. But bumblebees are under threat.

Without bumblebees and their pollinator friends, food crops and the countryside as we know it will simply cease to exist.

Geoff will take you on a fascinating journey of understanding the bumblebee, and why and how we must help these iconic super pollinators.

When: Saturday and Sunday, November 1st & 2nd, 11.00am & 2.00pm each day. They will on site all day on Saturday and Sunday.

Ngāpeke Permaculture Garden

NZBCT have teamed up with Envirohub Tauranga and will be running the kids Bumblebee Trail as well as giving talks throughout the day. Details on this event will be posted on our facebook page closer to the time.
